Finished this latest story this morning. It's called "Public Assistance" and at present is 5,918 words accordong to Word. This was one of those stories where it essentially crystalized in my head all at once. All told I think it took me about 6-7 hours to write the first draft. I'll give it a couple days to sit and then go back and do some editing. Then print and send off to F&SF. It's good when a story just pops out like this. Although one does feel rather mugged.

At any rate, I will have a second story in circulation before the end of the month. Like I said, my brain saved me.

So that's what I've been doing for the last three days. Outside of work, that is.

Well, I'm off to go get something cheap to eat. Day before paycheck day, so I guess it's Taco Hell for me.
