Greetings, my fellow eukaryotes...

"Public Assistance" will go out today in the mail to F&SF. After it does so, I will have two stories out in circulation. "Shepherds" is still at Analog. As their average response time is 40 days, there is nothing to worry about. F&SF is rather quicker.

I start school tomorrow.

I've been spending much of the morning looking at some quite beautiful mathmatical art. Very soothing and meditative stuff for me. This is the kind of thing I could spend hours looking at. Aaahhh... sancta simplicitatis...

So I like weird abstract art, so sue me.

They apparently had a problem with my cellphone order. I called Cingular on Tuesday to check on the status of the order and they caught the error and said they'd be sending it out that day. So hopefully tomorrow or Friday it'll be here. Grrr.... If you can't order a cellphone after midnight on a Saturday then what's the point of all this e-commerce stuff?

Seen on New Scientist -- a new technique has been developed to squeeze a terabyte onto a standard DVD. That's 472 hours of video, kids. 250 gig per layer, four layers, one tera. That's video, muchachos. Think what it could mean for text...

Prestidigitate a pumpkin.
