"Shepherds" has been out to Asimov's for 16 days, "PA" has been out to Analog for 14 days.
I've worked on the screenplay for most of this past "weekend" -- heck, for most of the time I've been home in the last 4 days. Got kind of stir-crazy last night and went out to rent some movies just to get away from the computer. Rented one that is quite interesting entitled "What The [Bleep] Do We Know?" Should you find it in your local video store, it's definitely worth a gander. One of those that kind of makes you scratch your head and go "hmmm.....". Quantum physics, neuroscience, the nature of reality, hey, you can't go wrong.
The other day I went to see "Robots" in that new theater over in East Ridge. And, not incidentally, to see the trailer for Revenge of the Sith on the big screen, as it should be. Great Force how am I going to make it through that movie? Even the trailer freaks me out. Anyway, "Robots" is quite good, has quite a few sci-fi references (HAL singing "Daisy Daisy" for one, and at one point one of the character finds a "voice box" of Darth Vader saying "The Force is strong with this one" in reference to Ewan McGregor's character. ROFLMAO!) A good story, and a very good kids' story. I shall definitely get this one on video.
We have Astronomy Day coming up, for which I shall be taking a day off.
I have my Math final on Wednesday.
*sigh* Due to schedule conflicts (i.e. Ships-Passing-In-The-Night syndrome) I shall not be seeing the cute guy at work until Friday at the earliest. Which sucks. Completely. Oh well. Not like I don't have enough to keep me occupied.
And not like this will ever really go anywhere.
Just that eye candy doesn't grow on trees for me. Probably a good thing, or I'd never get anything done due to terminal frustration.
Oh well. While it lasts, I'm going to enjoy the view.
Having now reminded myself of the hopelessness of that particular situation and the depressing fact that I seem to have this lemming-like ability to go diving over interpersonal cliffs like Pavlov's dog whenever confronted with black haired Elven types, I am now going to go make myself something to eat and get to work on the screenplay.
It beats screaming and throwing things.
Bumbling bombastic blurglecruncheons bopping battalions of Beetleborgs!
