The Bad Guys now have a name -- the Gurjathi. Giant slimy sea-urchin kind of all tentacles sort of ... things.

The Good Guys, the Chandarain, are sort of top-shaped. Actually, think of an old-fashioned ice-cream cone with one scoop on top. Round and bulbous on top, pointy on the bottom. Made of a crystalline substance normally a light amber in color, though they change colors (and crystal structure) in order to deal with changes in ambient radiation. About at the vertical midpoint of their bodies, they have up to 6 long thin tentacles ending in 3 or 4 little finger-like branches. They have dark spots all over their tops which are a form of eyes rather like insect eyes. Because of their crystalline structure they can integrate seamlessly with their technology -- when they're flying their ships, they become the ship's brain, etc. They're way, way, way more advanced than humans -- they built themselves a Dyson ring hundreds of thousands of years ago.
