Book stuff today. Many questions have been answered, to wit:
(Be afraid, I actually took notes.)
Will BCH get the books directly from CafePress?
No, unless I order/send them directly to them myself. All sales are on consignment, meaning I buy the books and send them to BCH/Ingram, from whence they will send to the bookstores, etc. They DO NOT mark up books, neither does Ingram.
Costs for warehousing, insurance, etc., (i.e. my liability money-wise)
None for less than pallette sized orders.
How many books are they planning to keep in inventory at any given time?
Depends on how many I send to them.
Okay, so I got it now. I don't need to adjust the price on the book, the lady at BCH assured me it wasn't overpriced. And I like the fact that they will only have in stock however many books I want to send them.
There is the question of the possible booksignings at Waldens that Charlene has often said she wanted to do, for which her store would have to order quantities of the books and I don't know how we'd do that. I need to go talk to them, but that can wait. Also there is the conundrum of how many to keep in inventory, but I figure I can just send them half a dozen every couple of weeks to keep up with things. If they need more I can always send more.
Now I need to get on my shop on CP and figure out how to do this and have the procedure in place. But first I need to finish doing the contract and get that sent off TODAY.
Also need to go to the mall today to get Squeezy!Snack (otherwise known as Petromalt) and swing over to BestBuy to get a USB hub because if I had one of those I could plug my entire collection of flash drives in at the same time. And the printer too.
So. I am much relieved re: the BCH contract.
Also found out Montgomery Spot isn't a boy and is in fact pregnant. Oy.
