Amireal had a good idea on her LJ with contact information for her online friends (of which there are droves) in the event that she disappears suddenly without warning. Things like the e-mail addresses of real-life friends and family, to ask what is going on, how to help, where to send flowers, which hospital she's in, etc.

I was going to do that here myself and realized I have no such persons that I can legitimately and safely call upon for such. My mother wouldn't work because if I was hurt she wouldn't be at work and she doesn't have an e-mail address at home. She doesn't like computers, really, and only uses e-mail at work because she needs it for work and she knows it's the only way to find me sometimes if I leave my phone out in the truck. Ditto my grandmother and the rest of my family. The only real-life friend I have who would work as such would not appreciate his e-mail address given out on a public forum, nor would I think to do so, and anyway I'm afraid of getting him in trouble at home by designating him as such.

I have one friend who I can't in good conscience involve in my life that deeply, and my family is electronically incommunicado. By choice.

*sigh*

There is something seriously wrong with me and no one gives a fragging damn.
