The things you find when you're packing.
I found a full install of WordPerfect 5.1. The full commercial version. On 5.25 inch disks. 12 of them. Apparently left by Aaron when he moved out over 12 years ago, as found with it were Disks 1, 2 and 4 of "Doom Commercial Version" with labels in his handwriting. And a CDROM driver for DOS. Not Windows. DOS.
The WP looks like you could load it up with no problems, it's in that good a shape.
All these old boxes I haven't even looked in for 8 years, and I look in and think "why did I bother to bring this?" All this junk. Replaceable junk.
Media, computers, my home fizzifying machine, the stuff from the Temple, my cat and my clothes. That's all I care about. And my bed, since it's for damn sure I'll never convince another UPS guy to carry a couple hundred pounds of mattress and bedframe up a couple flights of stairs again.
No word yet on when/if I actually have a job in Jacksonville.
But almost all my books are packed and I just need to wrap my magazine carts in tape to pack them. Then go through my clothes and take a bunch to Goodwill. Wish I had a dumpster here. Would make things easier.
