Must buckle down and get working on this black hole story. This shall be the test case for the 20K short story thing. It begins with the idea "What would happen if a black hole hit the sun?" Basically it's a disaster flick to begin with, but everything goes better with a few aliens thrown into the mix. I have to think 2 hour TV movie rather than 3 feature film epic.

Sometimes I think I think stuff to death.

However, in my online perambulations yesterday I did find a kick-ass name site. So now I have name sites for Japanese and western names. It is a problem I have at times, coming up with good names for characters. Baby name books don't cut it when you need good ethnic names. I love making stuff up -- Kham, Jodo and Xyl being prime examples of that. So I'm keeping the god/goddess names for ships now, mostly. See Janet and Stewart Farrar's "The Witch's God" and "The Witch's Goddess" for those. Leftovers from my younger days as a pagan, and still quite useful.

My purely comedy SG-1 story "Weird Planets and Other Occupational Hazards" was posted this morning on Area 52. Tempted to go ahead and post "Bridge Between Worlds" and not wait for my beta reader.

I must find a beta who can do original stuff. That's my problem, I think, at least part of it, with the original stuff. No feedback. So if any of you know anyone knowledgeable in science-fiction, grammar and punctuation who has the time to do these things, please let me know.

At any rate, must get to work.
