Thinking, thinking...
Is anything we feel real?
If almost any emotion we feel can be produced by the proper combination of neurochemicals as stimulated by a drug or other outside influence, is any of it real?
Oxytocin, the recently discovered "love chemical", that causes us to bond and care about our children and mates. The entire spectrum of emotions produced by the combination of serotonin and dopamine and other related neurochemicals, from euphoria to suicidal depression, passivity to extreme aggression.
Do we really love anyone if it's just an addict's response to the drug of choice?
Is any emotion real, if it can be reproduced at will via some outside stimulus?
What are we if we have to be motivated to do things by a neurochemical high or lack of it?
Is any of it real?
