Testing, one, two, three... if you can see the bouncing Smileys, it's time to have a serious talk about psychoactive substances...

Well. Life at the moment is very good. I am expecting the ETX to be delivered on Wednesday. I bought a laser printer yesterday. I joined the Space Frontier Foundation today. I renewed my World Future Society membership a couple weeks ago. I'm doing well in school so far. I have 3 classes to go, meaning two quarters left. Mark your calendars now. December 20th and I'm once more a free wiener dog in the cyclodrome of life. "Revenge of the Sith" is due in less than a month. I'll be 6 Squared on July 16th and I'm beginning to have the first ideas for my annual birthday distraction. My resume is off into the wild blue yonder of NASA, and hopefully will find favor with someone somewhere who needs a tech writer. I have one long vast project ahead of me in a hypothetical 13 episode TV series / book.

In fact I was reading "Astronomy" magazine here a couple days ago and come to find out that whole "sling-shot manuever around a black hole" thing is actually a possibility. Some astronomers have found a star that is going twice as fast as it needs to to escape the galaxy. The theory at the moment is that it was flung aside by a black hole, possibly the one at the center of the galaxy. So yes, if a star could be flung out fast enough to double the galactic escape velocity I think a mining ship could be flung fast enough to get to M15. Although I was just as cagey in the screenplay as in the original story. I just had it fade to black, just as in the story, and they wake up at M15. No mention of how they got there. Heh.

So one might say I'm at the top of my game at the moment. Always a precarious place to be. But I'll enjoy the view while I'm here.

90 million different species on this planet over 4 and a half billion years... monkeys... why did it have to be monkeys...?
