Well, the Horrible Expensive Leaking Pipes ended up being a busted PVC section where it connected to the cast-iron pipes that go into the house. About 2 feet underground and easily fixed. It ended up being $350. Thanks to the Scout Who Walks in Concrete Moccassins for a tip on how to con the water company into writing off the Gigantic Water Bill, which I will do tomorrow.
So much for taking 5 days off for a vacation. :-/
Well, I was going to write tonight but I'm just too tired. Late night last night, early morning this morning, and a lot of emotional upheaval dealing with all of this takes its toll on my limited reserves of energy. And I made such a good start on it. 6,000 words in 2 days.
I'd really rather not talk about this one until it's well established and has reached critical mass, but suffice to say we have weird aliens, micrometeorites, and various other things. Further details as events warrant. The important thing is I'm working again. How long this will last with the next quarter at school, I cannot say. I go back on October 3rd. I'm aiming to get as much done as I can before then.
I've got cats crying for their dinner, so I guess I'd better go feed the bottomless pits before their event horizons get too large and suck the house in.
