Well, I got the contract from BCH in the mail a couple days ago and I've been doing book stuff today. First I needed to get letterhead stationery because there was an authorization thing for Ingrams that had to be done on "company letterhead". So being the resourceful, Publisher-addicted DP wiz that I am, I whipped myself up a nicely understated, clear and concise letterhead that actually looks fairly professional for a one-man band operation. Complete with Lil' Sputnik in all his green, red and silver glory. Which required going to Kinkos to get a color print out of it, and then 50 color photocopies on some nice slightly gray resume paper. Very nice indeed. And I've got plenty for any future business dealings. I am the savvy, forward-thinking businesscritter.

So now with the snazzy letterhead I did the authorization thingy, printed it out, all done. Sent off a copy of the cover art and back cover blurb via e-mail as requested. Now all that remains is the contract itself, the which I am reading several times. I have some questions regarding how many books they are planning to keep warehoused given I do things via CafePress and they don't need to keep all that many on hand. I would like to know how much I'm getting myself in for, so to speak. Obliviousness in this instance does not become me. I'm an English major, but I can be taught.

Thinking I need to go get another one of those 3-drawer little plastic filing cabinets on wheels I'm so fond of to keep all the AAP stuff in. Actually I need several. And some bookcases.

Also must stuff all my tax stuff into envelopes and get that on the way tomorrow. Never let it be said that I dallied when the prospect of retrieving my hard-earned wages from a corrupt and evil government presented itself.

Now will go pack up dirty clothes and go do laundry. Oy!
