Okay, so a red shift is when something is moving away from you very fast.
A blue shift is when something is moving toward you very fast.
Therefore a purple shift is when something is very emphatically standing still very fast.
That was my bisexual public service announcement for the day.

Maybe another way of stating it could be when something is moving away from you just as fast as it is moving towards you.
