Okay, so the Dell Debacle wasn't over.

Four days after I cancelled the order, our delivery supervisor at work came up to my station at the window with a box. "It's that computer you ordered," she says.

"It's the computer I canceled last Friday!" I answered.

Now it's been about 3 weeks and they haven't refunded my money. Even though I canceled the order. They still sent it. And they've kept my money.

I haven't opened the computer. I'm still debating what to do, send it back and get into the whole stupid coil again, keep the computer (what do I need with 4 fragging computers?!) or just saying the heck with it and selling it on Craigslist or Ebay. I love my new HP, now that I've found how to fix the keyring problem its a cute-puter. OTOH, I need the money.

And yet, they've sent me a request to do their customer survey. And a reminder to do the survey.

One of our carriers at work has a sign on his sorting case -- a circle with the words "Bang Head Here". I need one of those. Badly.

In other news, my stuff is here finally. My living room is crammed full of boxes, tables, chairs, my magazine carts...

I have somewhere to put my clean clothes now.

I can sleep without having to worry if I dig an elbow into the bed while turning over I won't pop the matress and end up sleeping on the floor in less than a minute. (This really happened. I'm not kidding.)

I can make meals with 2 pans now. And my rice cooker! And I have my Laptop Lunch box back, and my Lock-n-Locks, and holy cow I can make bento again! \O/

I have my microwave. But I haven't yet found the glass turntable plate. Yet I saw it being packed... (solution: an inverted dinner plate over the turning spindle, and remember to turn your food to prevent hard spots)

I can haz art! Though haven't decided if the Stan Bruns dragon pic should be in the living room or the Fortress of Solitude.

(Have just gotten inspiration. Above the door of the Fortress of Solitude is a hole in the wall. It leads to a storage space, not enough to be an attic. This is a large square hole bordered by what looks like a picture frame. I will get some weird fabric and make a curtain over this hole. I will make a sign declaring "Home of the Muse". Then I will get an appropriate goblinish figure or stuffed animal to live up there, peering through the curtain at me as I write. )

So my stuff got here this morning. I'll be returning to Chattanooga tomorrow morning to do more cleaning and clear out the last few things, get in touch with the realtor, etc.

So I am now gone altogether from Chattanooga. It's all over save the foreclosure.
