I didn't put it here when I did it but I've canceled out of the Libsyn account and so the podcast will be gone soon.
I went to the WIA office today and they basically gave me some forms to fill out. Said if I can find 5 job listings for whatever job I want to study for they'll consider it an "in demand" occupation and I can get the funds for it. I haven't gone through all the paperwork yet but will tomorrow. Still not sure if I want to do this but if I want something that's got a future to it and not just a job then I pretty much have to do something about the educational situation. Unless you intend to work at Wal-Mart or in fast food all your life you pretty much have to have some sort of degree these days. I've seen that on the job listings I've been looking at. Can't even get a foot in the door or an interview unless you've got at least a bachelor's if not a master's.
Well, after 22 years and dropping out 3 times, I should at least have all the core curricula I need so it's probably just going to be the specific courses for whatever I take. Gainesville State has A.A. (Associate of Arts) in Anthropology, Psychology and Sociology. I'll probably take Sociology, with an eye to doing social work of some kind.
If I do it. I haven't decided. All this paperwork has to be turned in to the school by April 1st, so I guess I need to really get on the ball.
